I have scheduled a Robotics Demonstration and Support Meeting [for those interested in First Lego League] on Monday, September 12 at 3:30 at the Teaching and Learning Academy, RM#W110. This is not a mandatory meeting, but if you are in need of support to get your team robot started, this is the meeting for you.
In order to help everyone get off to a great start, I have asked Mr. David Hirschfeld to come and present to the group and demonstrate what your Lego
Mindstorm Robots will look like and do. He will also be there to sign up any school who would like for him to come in and provide hands on afterschool programs regarding the Lego Robots. As the district contact and lead for the Robotics program, we could possibly renew the contract with him for this year, if enough teams show interest. This is not a mandatory meeting, but a meeting for those interested in having some help getting starting.
Mr. Hirschfeld would provide 2-4 classes before the season begins at each interested school, and then once the Lego season starts, the sessions would
end and would not start up again until after the season. As soon as registration opens for FLL, please go ahead and register. Check the US First website often and stay informed. www.usfirst.org.(Legos or FLL website) If you have not secured mentors, parents or volunteers to help you with the team, please try and recruit at least 2 people to help you manage the team.
