Engineers Day 2014 West Tennessee Initiative (WTI)

The Office of Diversity Programs at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is hosting a program in Fall 2014 titled Engineers Day: West Tennessee Initiative (WTI). Engineers Day WTI is an overnight program for current high school juniors and seniors who are interested in pursuing engineering. Underrepresented groups (African American, Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander, Alaskan Native, women, low-income and first-generation college students) are strongly encouraged to participate. Engineers Day WTI will introduce students to the university’s campus, college of engineering, and many university resources.

Engineers Day WTI will be held on October 22-23, 2014. Throughout the program, students will be able to learn about engineering disciplines. Selected high schools will also have the opportunity to compete in engineering challenges. For more information about the engineering challenges, please visit: http://www.engr.utk.edu/ed/. Each school selected to participate in Engineers Day WTI will receive complimentary transportation, lodging, and meals for 12 students and 2 counselors/teachers. Schools must be located in West Tennessee to be eligible to apply. The interest form and student applications for Engineers Day WTI must be received by Friday, September 12, 2014.
