Dustin’s Corner

This page contains links and information gathered by Dustin Maki; a FIRST VISTA and University of Memphis, Herff College of Engineering student.  Dustin is tasked with building the capacity of FIRST programs.  He is available via email, at Memphis FIRST events, and in the schools by request during team meetings.  If you are interested in sponsoring a team, becoming a Mentor, are a team in need of a Mentor, or want to start a FIRST team in western Tennessee, Dustin can help.

On January 4th 2014 we held the Memphis area kickoff event at the University of Memphis Ballroom.  Following the video feed and lunch there were several presentations to help teams over the upcoming build season.  My presentation was entitled Java for FRC 2014.  We covered the following topics:

Installing the development environment.
Building a simple program from Robot builder.
Debugging and testing live code on the 2013 BoltBot built by Bolton High Team 5040.
